Nutrition Prep LLC provides recipes using healthy non-processed foods such as the basic staples below:
Fruits and Vegetables: Studies have shown consuming a diet containing fruit and vegetables reduces the risk of stroke, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and even osteoporosis. They are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and various other beneficial substances. Fresh fruit and vegetable consumption is probably the best way to improve your health through diet. Potatoes, yams, corn and beans are not vegetables, and don’t have the health benefits that vegetables provide.
Protein foods like red meats, chicken, fish, pork to name a few. These foods will keep you satisfied, boost your metabolism, help prevent diabetes, heart disease, and osteoporosis and provide you with high quality protein, vitamins, and minerals. Try to consume free range, pasture fed beef or buffalo which is vastly superior to the average meat in terms of containing less fat and antibiotics, and having a healthier fat profile.
Nuts. These include almonds, pecans, filberts (hazelnuts), walnuts, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, and pistachios, but not peanuts or cashews, which are legumes. Tree nuts have been shown to have benefits for the heart and may even improve longevity. They are one of the few natural sources of the mineral magnesium which is sorely lacking in most people’s diets. Magnesium protects the heart and helps prevent osteoporosis. Nuts also contain a nice amount of fiber and other minerals. Avoid those nuts which are salted and cooked in unhealthy oils opting for raw nuts instead. Please note if you have known allergies to nuts we are not asking you to consume them.
Dairy – Dairy products are generally defined as foods produced from cow’s milk. They are usually high-energy-yielding food products. Types of dairy include milk, cheese and butter. A study from the Oct. 2003 Muscle & Fitness magazine report that new research indicates that a diet high in dairy can help you lose weight. Please note if you have a known allergy to dairy we are not asking you to consume it.
Sugar – Since Nutrition Prep LLC revolves around healthy food choices we provide menus that only include natural sugar recipes. Natural sugar is derived from plant material which include fruit and stevia. The monosaccharides (simple sugars) in these natural foods are in a structure that are beneficial to your cells. This is true energy as compared to the false energy one gets from processed sugars. Also, beware of the following terms as they constitute added sugars: sugar, corn syrup, fruit juice concentrate, sucrose, dextrose, glucose, fructose and maltose.
We understand not everyone may eat meat therefore we are happy to customize your menu to include vegetarian meals. Please let us know if you request the vegetarian menu and we are happy to accommodate you.
